Cut Spilt Ends:

Black hair with split ends will break easily and will not enjoy proper growth. While trimming, there is no need to cut down the length of your hair; you can just trim the split ends. Trimming will also help in preventing further damage to the new hairs that are growing.

Sleeping habits:

Your body needs rest to promote the process of hair growth. So, a sound sleep of 6 to 8 hours daily can help a lot in improving the rate of black hair growth. For sleeping use a satin pillowcase or cover your hair with a satin hair bonnet. Cotton pillowcase is not good for black hair as it can easily absorb the moisture from your hair making it drier. On the other hand, satin allows your black hair to retain moisture and protects the hair from friction and further damage.

No Shampoo with Chemicals:

Washing hair with shampoo is very common as it helps in cleaning the scalp and hair properly. People with black hair must use a shampoo free of chemicals and sulfates as it will wash away the natural oils. This in turn will make your hair drier unhealthy. As black hair is dry by nature you must not wash it daily. In fact, try to wash your black hair in every five to six days with a mild shampoo. Baby shampoo is a better option for black hair. Massage your scalp thoroughly while shampooing your hair as it helps in stimulating the production of natural oil production and help in preventing dryness. The best way to use shampoo is to apply them onto the hair only. Don’t allow the shampoo to stay on the scalp for a long time.

Too much oiling can clog the pores on your scalp and hamper the natural oil production. Apply the oil onto the scalp and massage it with the help of your finger tips. Allow the oil to soak in for an hour and then wash your hair with a mild shampoo.

Protein treatments:

Hair is mainly made of protein known as keratin and proper intake of protein and other protein treatments can make your black hair strong and healthy.
